2003 fic recap

This is how... little I write these days. For the entire year of 2003, I have written:

Naruto
Untangled [ Sasuke, Naruto | gen | PG ]
Solstice [ Sasuke/Naruto | m/m | PG-13 ]
Equinox [ Sasuke/Naruto | m/m | PG-13 ]
In Silence Shatters [ IruNaru, SasuNaru | m/m | PG-13 ]

Prince of Tennis
Transition [ TezuRyo | m/m | PG ]
Distractions [ Atobe, Jirou | gen-slash | PG ]
One for a Hundred [ TezuRyo | m/m | PG ]
Grey on Black [ Gakuto, Oshitari | gen | PG ]
May the Best Man Win [ Gakuto, Marui | gen | G ]
Trickster's Court [ Niou, Yagyuu | gen | G ]
Untitled [ Niou, Yagyuu | gen | G ]

Saiyuki
Birth [ Goku | gen | G ]
Fool's Gold [ Goku | gen | PG ]
Waiting [ Doku/Gojou | m/m | R ]

And apparently, I only fic for three series'. ^_^ Although come to think of it, that's more fic than I wrote for 2000-2002 combined. Except I used to write longer fics before. Not much longer, but longer nonetheless. Most of the above are very short drabbles.

I suppose my new year's resolution should be somewhere along the lines of trying to write more for 2004.

I did not write a single original piece for 2003. >.> WTF.

[Edit:] [info]aishuu reminded me I had Rikkai drabbles, so I added those. Now I'm pretty sure that's all I've written. At least, written and posted anyway. ^_^

Play even? I don't think so.

In reply to this. I even had to make an icon for the occasion. ^_~

169 words, I couldn't possibly cut it down to 100. )

PS. And yes, I made sure to post this just a few minutes before Bhex went offline. :P Who owes what now? *gets hit*

[drabble] Trickster's Court (I should stop getting myself into stuff like these)

Normally, this would go on my fic journal, but because this is the result of my somehow (through my own stupidity, mind you) suddenly owing [info]dreamlessness Rikkai fic, which she wanted immediately, that wench. You must all suffer with me. ^_~

Spoilers for chapter 205 of the manga. Not so much spoiler as you probably won't get it unless if you've read the chapter, or know what happens in it. 100 words exactly, written in 8 minutes. -_- Bhex. You so owe me.

nanowrimo and TokiMemo GS~~ must. resist!

NaNoWriMo? What's that? >.>

I really want to be able to write something for this, I do. Even if I don't reach the 50,000 word count by the deadline. But when I'm not working, my brain just fizzles and dies. It thinks, "hooboy, no work! restrestsleeeeep!" and any thought of writing flies out the window. Boo.

That aside, I miss Juuni Kokki and Last Exile. I miss having a series to watch which I could actually look forward to every week (or every time the subs got released in JK's case). Where each episode gets a great enough reaction from me to actually make me post about it (because let's face it, I'm lazy, I hate posting about anime eps in general since it takes time) even if it's a one-liner that says, "OMG. DIIOOO!! I LOVE YOU!" (I don't think I ever did that, but I must have come pretty close. ^_^) If something can make me one-line (which I absolutely hate doing), then it means something, and while I'm sure people who read my LJ are relieved I no longer do so, I miss it! Not the one-lining, just the feeling of watching a series that leaves you thinking, 'well shit' and 'this series owns me' by the end of each episode.

I love Fullmetal Alchemist of course. It's the only series that came out this season which I'm still following (will catch up to the rest when I have more time), but it's not quite the same. At least I know FMA won't depress me as much as LE did. ... It had better not!

Other than that, excuse me while I kill both [info]yachinami and [info]koutenken. You see, Yachiyo has been utterly impossible as of late. You know, the kind where you're going, "waah! shaddupshaddup you're so not pimping this to meee~~!" although she really wasn't. She's just been talking about TokiMemo GS a LOT as of late, and we all know that's the best kind of sl0ring you can ever do.

To know more about this game and the reason why I would ever want to play it, refer to this post where Yachiyo talks about the characters and lists their seiyuu. Yea, you thought so? What else could it be after all. It has a slew of popular seiyuu, but most importantly, it has Okiayu, Ishida, Shin'ichirou, Kappei (he's really grown on me since he voiced Enki), Morikubo, and *dies* Hayami Sho whom I've missed so soooo much! (He hasn't shown up in any of the series' I've been following as of late.)

But you see, this is a date simulation game, which I don't actually have a problem with playing, except that it's in Japanese, and after the greatbigohpleasepleasecanikillmyself?! experience of playing FF8 in Japanese, I never ever want to go through that again. (So a date simulation game is very different from an RPG, but it's still in Japanese.) So despite [info]yachinami's enthusiastic slobbering fangirling over said game, I wasn't really paying that much attention, since I knew I'd never get around to playing it.

And then [info]koutenken (yes, she figures into this, she does!) gives in to Yachiyo's sl0ring here. And of course, after Angelique and Harukanaru, you'd think I'd have learned by now and come to expect it. But no, I can remain blissfully ignorant when my wallet calls for it, until someone points it out and then DOOM. In this case, the TokiMeki CDs. Add that to [info]koutenken's fangirling over Okiayu's Kansaiben and well... DOOMDOOMDOOM!

I have very legit reasons for plotting their untimely deaths.

hoo me~! and the bzat-- (incoherent subjectlinesaregood)

NaNoWriMo count: 1 word written. (go me!)

Tomorrow I get my only free day for the week. I will write darn it, or I won't even reach 10k by the end of the month.

Also, NaNoWriMo snippets and blabbage will be posted on the fic journal ([info]inquietare) from now on to save the sanity of the people who read this journal. Posts will be filtered, so in case anyone's interested in a half-baked Hyotei-centric fic which will most likely be written while braindead, you can find more information here.

So, I've waited months for the get extra LJ icons for a fee option to go live, and now that it finally does I realize I can't get it! *wails* Because I no longer have a credit card to purchase it with. ;_; Evilness. Somewhere out there, the iconses gods are laughing at me. $10 for a year isn't a lot, but the extra Php300 ($5-6) I'll be spending to send payment through EMS has me going bleh. Alright, so it may still not be a whole lot that, but it's still $6 more. Though I'll probably end up paying it eventually, because I'm a sucker that way. Go you LJ! You make us icon!h0s happy and $10 poorer.

Edit: EEEEEEE!!!!! *glomps [info]sharona1x2 because she r0x0rs!*

NaNoWriMo blabbage

So it's past 12 midnight of November 1 over where I'm at, which means NaNoWriMo for us folks have officially started. Last year, I chickened out and didn't participate and swore I would this year. Unfortunately, it seems I'm going to chicken out again.

Not only do I doubt being able to write 50,000 in under a month (w/c also happens to be my busiest month this quarter), I'm also torn between working on an original piece, or working on fanfic.

The good thing about working on an original piece would be that I'll finally get around to writing something for Nomentaria, which has been just a half-baked world in my mind for the past, oh, 3-4 years. I've tried making it into a collaboration fic when it first started, but that didn't go anywhere. Have tried making it into an RPG, but world structure was so complicated that wouldn't have worked out very well either. Now the fact that the world still needs a lot of world-building is exactly why I don't think working on it for NaNoWriMo would be a good idea.

On the other hand, writing fanfic for NaNoWriMo just boggles the mind, since I've always written oneshot pieces, and never multi-chaptered fanfics. It boggles this ficwriter's mind, really. Though I could always start on that Saiyuki fic I once told Bhex about but never worked on. Other choices would be a TeniPuri Hyotei-centric fic (and we all know I'm going to focus on Gakuto more anyway, which is all good, because people hardly like Gakuto, so I have to sweat it out less in the knowledge that not a lot of people would want to read it, so I don't really have to worry about anything but me beating my head against the wall if it's crappy), or a Naruto Hyuga-centric fic.

Choices, choices. And I wait until the start of November to start worrying about it.

Can anyone recommend an anime series for me to watch? New or old. Doesn't matter whether or not you think I may have seen it. Just drop titles on me, as long as you think it's worth watching.

----------

You know the biggest problem with that drabble meme which I knew I was going to regret the moment I posted it, was that the lot of you requested mostly from series' I swore I'd never write for. ;_; Not for lack of wanting, but just because they're series' (games) I don't think I can ever write well enough for. Evil people. ;_;

----------

My cat has mastered the graceless art of falling off the window sill. This does not amuse me at all. Especially when she gets her claws stuck on the window screen and is therefore hanging in mid-air by her CLAWS! >_< I am just thankful there was actually a chair there to support half of her weight so her claws weren't taking her full weight. *twitchtwitch* Blasted cat.

----------

To anyone who got the Saint Seiya Hades series from me. Finally got around to getting the fixed version of episode 13. Tell me if you want me to reburn a copy of the last CD.

ff.net

Is it true, that fanfiction.net has decided to purge all yaoi fiction from their database? I don't see anything on their front page, and I would like to know if countless people are pissing. me. off. by flooding my inbox about it for nothing.

This pointless post brought to you by my newest Al icon. XD

i seem to have taken a liking to challenges

[info]15minuteficlets is my newest playground. What do you know, I finally have something to post on the fic blog because of it (w/c I've never announced before because I haven't posted anything on it 'til now).

Two Prince of Tennis drabbles up at [info]inquietare, the first is Atobe and Jirou centric (almost AtoJi but not quite), the other is blatantly TezuRyo. ^^

And I've got a fic journal now (obviously), to make it easier for me to keep track of my writing. The journal is locked to friends only for the most part, so you'll have to tell me if you want to be added (more on the user info section).

Bah. I never like making these announcements, but there you have it.

Jirou ramblings of course, will remain in this journal. ^___^ *hears everyone groan*

In Silence Shatters

Naruto fic anyone? -_-

Title: In Silence Shatters
Series: Naruto
Rating: PG-13 (some would say R)
Disclaimer: Naruto is copyright to Kishimoto Masashi and Shueisha.
Notes: A few months ago I posted a Naruto fic and then deleted it before anyone could read it (although some of you saw it but thankfully I'd deleted it before you clicked on the cut. XD). I didn't touch it for a very long time. This is the final product of the fic. Thanks go off to [info]spacetart for the wonderful beta on the original draft. Your comments and suggestions were a great help, you don't know how much. Much love to [info]geilheit and [info]caillen, who don't even like Naruto that much, but who had to suffer though my whining over this fic.

I am never writing something like this again )

Jun. 3rd, 2003

sorta fic. ^^

Well what do you know, I actually ended up writing something for this week's challenge. I wasn't planning to actually, but this fic finally demanded to be written. Everyone go join [info]temps_mort if you haven't already. ^^ *pimp*

Title: Equinox
Fandom: Naruto
Pairing: Sasuke / Naruto
Rating: PG-13

Disclaimer: Naruto is copyright to Kishimoto Masashi and Shueisha. No infringement is intended, I'm just having fun with the boys.

Notes: Written for the [info]temps_mort complimentary colors challenge and done in 80 minutes. Could have used the excess 10 minutes to improve on it, but I just drew a blank by the time I got to the end. The fic stems from the same idea that Solstice came from, but just as I had to alter Solstice to fit it into the 30 minute constraint, I had to alter the idea for this somewhat. The two fics aren't connected at all.

Disabling comments and rearranging links to stop the confusion.

Because playing with colors and seasons mean a merry good time.

naruto drabble

I don't know how people can write drabbles in 30 minutes or less, I swear to god. -_- This one took me 35 minutes, I went five minutes over the allotted time. Go me. It sucks too because of it. I spent the entire time panicking over my time limit. I swore I would post this as is though and not edit (if I'd finished it a bit faster I would have had time to edit). And not delete it. So. This is unedited, and written almost in a blind rush of panic. It's also really rather bad. I realize the summer solstice would barely have been celebrated that way, but bite me. :/ This was much longer in my head, but I couldn't write the original idea down with the time limit.

Title: Solstice (yey for creative titles?)
Series: Naruto
Rating: PG
Note: This was written for the [info]contrelamontre soundtrack challenge. I'm not actually part of the community, I'm actually a member of [info]petitte_soeur which is for original characters. Seeing as to none of my original characters want to be written about at the moment however, I guess I'll stick to fannish writings. Oh, and the song in my mind was "She Moves Through The Fair" which most people mistake for an old Irish folk song. More info here. The soundtrack challenge was more on mood than the song's lyrics.

I went 5 minutes over, but ah well )

deleted fic again

I'm hoping nobody managed to see the fic post before I deleted it. It was up for around 15 minutes. So if you did see it posted and managed to read it, err.. ignore it? ^_^v

(This is the exact same post I posted last night, except I've edited the fic some, which I hope I managed to take down fast enough so that nobody actually got to read it. It's still botched in some parts, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to fix it.)

*purrs* [info]sweetie_fiend has posted just about the most purrfilicious Draco fanart I've seen in a long while. It's that V-neck ivy league shirt and that bloody tie, see. [info]geilheit, if you ever get around to going back online anytime this year (you know, just maybe?) you'd better go take a looksee. Because I know you'll love that shirt, even what little that you can see of it.

And you know, this is only because I couldn't help it. No matter how completely off kilter canon it may seem to be. I blame it on SF really, for her comment on Birth stating that her continuity circuits point out that Goku was born at night (saw the full moon, and thought it was the sun). I'd dedicate it to her, but she won't get to read this unless if I post it on FF.net where she can actually find it. But you know, this is all her fault.

It will be awhile before I can write Saiyuki fic that isn't Goku-centric )

allow me to wallow in this brief display of despair

Was rereading some of my older works, particularly the fics for Shadow Skill which I never finished and can't be found anywhere else but in the list archives. *kills [info]caillen and [info]geilheit How dare you guys not tell me how horrible they were! Oh I remember you guys commenting on this and I don't recall anyone telling me how disgustingly flowery my descriptions were. How over the top. How incredibly distracting. How totally wrong the entire narrative was from beginning to end.

*weep* You're supposed to slap me across the face when I write bad fic you know. Why didn't you?

goku-ness!

This is for [info]dreamlessness, because she's been waiting for me to write a Saiyuki fic since forever. Since this entire fic is shorter than my on-a-whim Naruto ficlet, but it's all there is to it. Since this fic was started way before any of the other Naruto fics came to mind. So sorry I couldn't write you something better.

naruto ficlet

Well I have no excuses really, except that I was re-reading Once Upon a Midnight Clear and this ficlet said Go write me. And I was the idiot who did exactly that.

It's short and hastily written and is the kind of writing that will have me twitching at it in horror in a few days time. Yet the wonders of writing snippets and ficlets is that it gives you the option of not really giving a damn

Untangled, a kind of sequel to Once Upon a Midnight Clear, still no sap )

Dec. 25th, 2002

christmas fic

I have 30 minutes to post this and then get ready before we leave for the relatives. I wanted to post this before leaving, just so I wouldn't have it hanging over my head the whole night since I do have another fic I want finished before the new year. This can be considered my *gasp!* Christmas fic of the year. I have never written a christmas fic, save for the yrpg parody a few years back.

Written in less than a day, and for anyone who knows how extremely slow I write, this is an achievement. Of course this fic was also my shameless excuse to write SasuNaru sap. Completely unbetad, I don't even have the time to give a quick read through because my parents will kill me if I'm not ready on time.

So well, enjoy? ^^

[Edit: Dec. 26] Finally had the time to read through the fic and change a few minor details and grammar mistakes. Also, I realize that Sasuke actually calls Naruto usurakontachi (it's almost like a pet name, aren't they sweet?), but it didn't really fit, so I used dobe instead.

Once Upon a Midnight Clear )

Jan. 20th, 2002

(no subject)

Because I'm tired and I'm sleepy, but I wanted to write at least a very short scene to tell myself I could still "somehow" write. And this scene popped into my head, it's the end scenario to a fic that would more or less just be a bit longer than the snippet if it was ever written. RuHana. unbetad. If i misspelled, I'm sorry? And if the description sucks, I only hope it's because Rukawa wasn't agreeing and not because of me. =P

"Hanamichi..."

He stopped to look back at me, face uncharacteristically void of all emotion that for a moment I felt a strange sensation of what could have been fear make its way known before I cautiously pushed it back. He shoved his hands into his pockets and I understood it for what it was, an almost unconscious act of defense to ward off something that displeased him. "It's getting late, Rukawa."

There. The flatness in tone that didn't belong with him and the empty look in mahogany eyes that were never anything less but expressive. I knew then, even as a smile forced its way to his lips and he turned his back to hide what he knew I could see, that the hate was fed by memories of a past I knew nothing about.

He walked away without waiting for me to follow, for he knew I'd seen the pain he was trying so desperately to hide.

And I knew, that it was a pain he would not share with me.

Did I mention how unbelievably short it was?
