And now we know why I did not put up a single title by Tohjoh Asami on all 7 days. Tohjoh Asami, like Tachibana Kaimu, is the worst of my mangaka addictions. I stalk yahoo!auctions just to get my hands on every doujinshi she's made that I do not have. (Though I've not been doing this as of late because I am very poor right now.)

I love her art. Like most artists, you can see the vast improvement in her art from her older works to her most recent ones. Probably one of the reasons why I love Tohjoh's stuff so much is that her works are so different and diverse. Shadows is a perfect example of this. Her Renai Junkie doujinshi is disturbing and smutty and sexy and yaoicest-filled. She can do funny, sexy, smutty, dark, disturbing... I have no words for the amount of love I have for this woman's works.

It doesn't even make sense, as I'm ready to admit that Tohjoh isn't one of the best story-wise, but her characters are never boring. She entertains the way BL mangaka are supposed to entertain. She makes you squee, grin like an idiot, gives you tiny heart pains, fangirl and enjoy whatever smut she has to offer. Should I shut up now? Yeah.

And hey, it says something if I've been obsessed with a mangaka as long as I've been obsessed with her. (6 years. Tachibana hits 7.)

Comments: Aitsu to Ore was the first Tohjoh manga I got my hands on, and the one that made her one of my favorite BL mangaka. This was only strengthened after I'd seen more of her other stuff. Aitsu was a random buy for me, back when I'd browse shops online and pick random titles I'd think was interesting and buy them. I had no idea what it was about, and had never heard of Tohjoh Asami. I have never regretted that decision since.

Aitsu remains to be a favorite out of her works. Maybe for sentimental reasons, but I do love the story. And it's kind of yaoicest, though they're step-brothers and not blood related. It has no sex, which makes me love it even more. She makes up for the lack of it with her doujinshi. >D Which by and by, falls under the switch theme and is utter love.

Title: Denkou Sekka Boys

Comments: Two pairs that I like! Bow down to Tohjoh-sensei's ability to have two couples and have me like both of them. (Kotobuki's Sex Pistols is another that's managed to do that.) Denkou Sekka Boys is one of those titles where Tohjoh proves she can take a normal, yaoi cliche and make me fangirl and love it endlessly because apparently, she completely owns my soul.

Comments: A good number of Tohjoh-sensei's stuff either falls under yaoicest or switch (sometimes both). This falls under the latter. It's a simple oneshot. She almost rivals Yamane on cloth!smex on this one, but Yamane still wins the prize for that hands down.

Comments: Based on a novel by Akizuki Kou, this hits a kink which I was not able to include on the 7 days themes, which, now that I think about it, sucks, because it's one of my favorite kinks, but I've not read a lot of BL that fall under it. That is, the guardian/charge relationship, which I love second only to yaoicest. Icon used is of Seiya-sama from this series.

Comments: This is one of my favorite of her short comics. Short, cute and sweet.

Comment: This title runs two stories, Junjou Romantica (the main pair) and Junjou Egoist (the second pair). I am only sharing the Junjou Egoist chapters, as this pair is the reason why I love this manga so much. If anyone cares to read the Junjou Romantica story, the chapters can be found in mochi mochi's website. I have plenty of love for this pairing and this story and I wish the entire manga was about them instead because they deserve it. The Akihiko mentioned that Hiroki is in love with in the Egoist story is the seme for the Romantica couple. Egoist is set a few years before the Romantica timeline. AND I LOVE THIS PAIR SO MUCH IT'S NOT FUNNY. Now go and download if you haven't read it yet.

Not really everyone's cup of tea, so I apologize, but there was no way I was going to not have a yaoicest day. Honestly, this should be my favorite day, since everyone who's read my LJ long enough will know yaoicest is probably my biggest yaoi kink. Comment: Added, as I just read it after I'd already posted this. I have a love and hate relationship with Yamakimi Riyu. If you take the general situation of most of her stories and have another mangaka do it, chances are that I won't like it (unless if said mangaka was Tohjoh Asami or the likes of Kawai Touko, Motoni Modoru, etc. You get what I mean...). They're generally things I don't take to, but I am amazed at the way Yamakimi-sensei writes her characters, because I am always torn between whether I like or don't like what she does. She takes an idea/relationship/situation I don't like and makes me like it. Her stories and characters are also unique. She's a very good and interesting read, as far as BL titles go.

What follows is one utterly frustrating event after the other wherein you'll feel like smacking everyone in the head because they're being stupid or annoying or both. It's a good story though, with a good ending.

Comment: Wataru is a talented young violinist who receives death threats telling him to withdraw from one of the most important music competitions of the year. His parents hire a security service who send two bodyguards to watch over Wataru's well-being at all times. This is a feel good story, with a little semblance of a plot (w/c is more than we can say for most BL stories) thrown in for the heck of it. It's cute, and I adore the pairing.

Comment: ... I'm not even going to attempt a summary for this. But DOWNLOAD AND READ because it is funny as heck. I was laughing like crazy 3 pages in and I've loved it since. I wasn't too keen on the premise, as I'm not very fond of catboys and variations of, but the story is cute and incredibly funny and I cannot imagine someone not loving this series. I am predictably, terribly fond of the secondary pair, but I like the main pair too, which is a rarity.

Comment: Kawai Touko is only the third mangaka who's made me go on a spending spree buying all her works I could get my hands on (the others being Tachibana Kaimu and Tohjoh Asami - both of whom I now have titles missing and should really get more of). I read her Bondz story first, loved it, and the moment I finished reading Cut, I bought all the manga she had listed in Amazon Japan. Kawai Touko manages to invoke emotions in her stories the way very few BL mangaka manage to do so. Her characters are real, and her stories strike at where it matters most. Go to the mochi mochi website and download her Loveholic series, that one's lighter in tone and randomly cute.

Comments: Get real, who isn't smittened by Motoni Modoru after something as emotionally and psychologically damaging as Shiikugakari Rika I ask you? I would have placed Rika here, but I didn't think it would do to make my flist want to crawl under their bed covers and never come out (that and I no longer have a copy of the scanlations for it). The story isn't depressing as heck like Rika was (is), but it's standard Motoni quality, so it's definitely worth the download.

Comments: Set in Paris during the French Revolution, Yoshinaga Fumi proves once again why she is a strong favorite of shoujo/BL readers who prefer story to art. Though I think Yoshinaga's art is beautiful, in that different and unique style that she has. Old-style shoujo fans will probably appreciate it more. Those looking for a heart-wrenching story, won't find it here, but it's a solid story with a good balance of hilarity and its personal flavor of angst.

Comments: *laugh* When I was discussing with Debbie my Day 3 theme she told me to include Wild Rock. I was like, "But it's not fantasy!" And she's like, "It's prehistoric." It's caveman yaoi at its best, with the beautiful art of Takashima Kazusa. Comments: Sugiura is best known for her Koori no Mamono no Monogatari series. Silver Diamond is less blatantly yaoi-themed, but aside from what I think is a more involved plot than that of KnMnM, it also has amusing and funny moments which has just made it my favorite out of Sugiura-sensei's works. Taking place in modern day Japan, Rakan comes home from a normal day in school to find a strange man lying in his garden. The man, Chigusa, calls Rakan the "Living Sanome" with the ability to make plants grow by his mere touch. He is the last hope of the world from where Chigusa (and apparently, Rakan) come from. I like this pair and the story, and I have SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE TALKING SNAKE, and I want more, but I can't get my hands on the manga. ;_;

Comments: I have yet to read this and I don't think it's really a BL title, but for those who like Higuri Yuu's work/art, then this should be a good treat. I've stolen SiH's summary because I have no comments about it.

Comments: Definitely my favorite from what I've read so far of CJ Michalski's stuff. Some lines make me twitch, but the overall makes me actually enjoy reading it again. The sister helped me to like it more than I normally would have I think, as I have a weakness for sibling relationships. (It doesn't always have to be yaoicest, you know. ;P)

Comments: Another Yumeka Sumomo work, this was actually based on a novel written by Tsukimura Kei. Translator notes at the end of the fourth chapter talks more about the manga (or lack thereof) vs the novel. The pace is slow and it cuts off before we can even see a development between the casual acquaintances type of relationship. Those who can read Japanese well enough to read the novels would probably be best off than most others.

Comments: Takashima Kazusa needs to be voodood a thousand times over for this piece. This is hands down, my favorite out of her works. It has a rugged seme ex-spoiler who smokes and acts like a complete dork and is just the coolest of her characters ever. And pretty boy uke prostitutes who do not kill us all by wallowing in annoying angst. It has enough angst, and coolness, and cuteness and it will have you looking for sparkly shoujo bubbles because you are not allowed to gush and squee like a shameless fangirl without the shoujo bubbles, except you do because it cannot be helped. And I like her art very much. My icon is courtesy of this series.

'WTF?!' you wonder. This is the product of my boredom, my new toy (the FTP server) and the fact that I don't have new music to pimp out. Holy Week started yesterday (or today, depending on which part of the globe you're in), and over here, this usually means processions and fiestas and visits to vacation spots (beaches!) and days with no tv if you don't have cable. My arcina.com domain refuses to let me connect to upload stuff, and my ravinred.net domain is no more, so I don't have a site to dump files in. So I opened an FTP server instead! ^___^ Other than the initial hassle of setting it up, now I just have to click and drag to the folder whenever I want to pimp something out, instead of having to upload it to a webhost.

I was originally going to share the rest of the Love Mode scanlations, but I don't feel like sharing them anymore. I refuse to NOT share anything though, especially when it took me two hours to setup the FTP only to discover that a great deal of the time I was fretting over OMFGWHYAREYOUNOTWORKING!? was because I forgot to turn it ON and that my router and FTP settings were just dandy save for the fact that IT. WAS. NOT. ON.

And so, I share random BL scanlations I feel like sharing. Download links are behind the cut, because I require that you comment whenever I share scanlations. I am generally uncomfortable about sharing scanlations on my LJ (except I reallyreally want to share so I can't help it), so if I find that a great majority of people downloading are not commenting I will stop sharing scanlations or just lock the posts from now on.

I am so very tempted to share everything out for this volume, but it's been licensed by [Digital Manga] and I am hoping people who read this like it enough to buy it when the manga is released. (And the Japanese one too if you're feeling up to it. ;D) It's only one volume, so it won't hurt your wallet as much as other titles.

Hoshino Lily is one of the very few mangaka who've made me like BL stories with very feminine (uke) characters. I tend to skip/skim, generally not like stories like that, but she makes up for it with her storytelling. Harem de Hitori is a collection of oneshot stories whose main selling-point for me was its fairytale atmosphere. The story starts with the line, "This is an old, old story." I was smitten the moment I read it.

One of the other few that made me like a story despite the overly feminine male character. One of the first things one must know about me and my taste in anything, be it books/fanfic/movies or my BL manga, is that I succumb very quickly when I like the general atmosphere of what I'm reading/watching. It doesn't have to be a great story, it just has to impress upon in little ways.

The first is Yumeka-sensei's art. It isn't gorgeous, but it's beautiful the way dreamy, wispy art tends to be beautiful, and her writing goes right along with her artstyle. And I like how she panels, it's striking even without dialogue. It's a painfully sweet story of a boy near death due to an illness and another who is said to be able to 'hear' when someone will die.

Because Eyeshield 21 is my newest obsession. M is already on my case about spending money on ES21 doujinshi when I should be buying myself a new scanner, and a VGA adapter and and... you get the idea. ;D Oh, but I do need a new scanner, so I can scan in the pretty doujinshi.

Anyhow, Negahyst art is gorgeous, as I'm sure a lot of people already know. I don't even like the Shin x Sena pairing, but they make me like it. They even make me like serious ES21 doujinshi.


And that's all, because I don't really feel up to pimping a lot after the whole frustration with the FTP server. BUT DOWNLOAD! Because I will cry if the server doesn't get used. ;_;
