20th-Nov-2007 01:00 am - Reborn Net Radio #10 & 11
[bucky] king of the world
Sharing this, because I had to grit my teeth from giggling like a crushing schoolgirl when Iida Toshinobu introduced himself (complete with Mukuro laugh) and then promptly spazzed out of embarassment. ♥ Haha. Such a short segment though. D:

Reborn Net Radio #10 - 11.12.07 [download]
Hosts: Ichinose Hidekazu (Gokudera), Inoue Suguru (Yamamoto)
Assistant: Ishibashi Rika
Guest: Kokubun Yukari (Tsuna)

Reborn Net Radio #11 - 11.19.07 [download]
Hosts: Ichinose Hidekazu (Gokudera), Inoue Suguru (Yamamoto)
Assistant: Ishibashi Rika
Guests: Kataoka Yoshiro (producer), Iida Toshinobu (Mukuro)

I had to download the asf stream for #11 thrice before it finally downloaded the complete radio show. Not sure what was wrong with it. I ended up listening to the show online while waiting for the download to finish, so if there's any glitches on the mp3 file do let me know.

Randomly, I am totally for Varia character singles, if only because I would love to hear Takahashi Hiroki singing in Squalo's voice. Chichi wo moge! ♥
22nd-Jun-2006 06:30 pm - [manga] Cat Street
[yondaime] happiness
Cat Street is more of a growing up and discoverying yourself, friendship story for me than anything else. Which is probably one of the major reasons I like it. People who know me know I have a weakness for friendships, as it is one of the few things I hold dear IRL. Have been meaning to rec this series to the flist, but we all know I'm rather bad at proper rec posts and that I'm lazy as hell, but since [info]dreamlessness has gone and recced this series on her LJ, I'll just go and point you all over to [her post about it]. Go read! I asked her to unlock this post just so I could link to it. *__*

And since I've uploaded the chapters already for friends who do not use IRC. *gnaws on Athene* You can download the manga below.

Cat Street: volume 1 | volume 2 | volume 3, chap.9
I seldom read, let alone pimp a shoujo title, so humor me and read it?
14th-May-2006 08:17 am - [media] E3 2006
[mgs4] where is my cardboard box?
Jen wanted the higher resolution trailers from IGN's coverage of E3 for a few game titles, so had to upload them to my server. Thought I might as well share to anyone on the flist who'd be interested, since my bandwidth is not being used at all.

.hack//GU (PS2) (gameplay footage) [download] [link]
Gameplay seems much improved from the original .hack series, thank god! I'm still stuck on the third installment for that, I should probably get around to finishing it already. I still like Haseo, and I love his chainsaw sword, so I'd want to play if only just for that. Besides, I still want to know what was up with Kite in that game preview they released last year. =/ I hope, hope, hope, the battle system is much improved. I couldn't really tell by much how it goes from the footage.

Assassin's Creed (PS3) [download] [link]
*___* If there was one game slated for the PS3 that I REALLYREALLYREALLY want to play and which I'll be crying over the most when it comes out and I don't have a PS3. Then this would be it. Instead of using pure stealth to reach your target, kill and get away. You instead have to use your environment to your advantage. From blending into the crowd and not calling too much attention to yourself (ie. if you shove people out of the way, they'll react accordingly, and the more attention you call to yourself the less likely that the guards will notice you), to getting the job done and running for your life after the kill. You're also able to interact with some of the citizens and help them in some way, and if you do, they may later on help conceal you after a job is done, or if you don't help, give you trouble afterwards.

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) [download] [link]
Well, who hasn't heard of this already. Not much to say on this game. We already knew it was going to be pretty.

Heavently Sword (PS3) [download] [link]
IGN likened it to God of War. (Which is a good thing!) Wasn't really interested enough to read the articles on it.

Ninety-Nine Nights (Xbox 360) [download] [link]
The graphics are stunning, I'll give it that. Hack and slash taken to a whole new level. My eyes actually hurt a bit after watching this movie. Which is utterly pathetic, I'm not sure why my eyes started hurting with fast-paced gaming. It brought my Dynasty Warriors gaming to a halt. =/

Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) [download] [link]
Either you love it or you don't. :P Raiden! Though I will not be looking forward to this game until I actually finish MGS3, which has been in the backburner since forever.

Rogue Galaxy (PS2) [download] [link]
Might be my pleasant surprise of the year, it may not. Don't really have opinions on this game, so I'll see once it actually gets released and I find the time to play it.

Tekken 6 (PS3) [download] [link]
Where there's Jin, there has to be Hwoarang~.

WarDevil (PS3) [download] [link]
One of the few games running on the PS3's full 1080p res.

I WANT MY [OKAMI]. ;____; US release date so far away.
29th-Apr-2006 01:34 pm - more Zera. You didn't think I'd stop at one post now, did you?
[zera] dork
I finally finished the billboard design from hell, so I celebrate by puttering about and posting Zera caps for those who wanted to see how it looked in-game. I had over 100 screencaps, I trimmed it down to 12. XD Most of it was me capping like crazy on the dance emotes anyway, or trying to get a good battle cap.

The only time you see him smile is when he dances. XD

I would have flooded this post with caps trying to get all the nice shots of their dance emotes, as Zera has the best dance emotes I've seen yet in any MMORPG (though my exposure is limited). Well the male characters have funny dances, the females aren't as amusing to watch. Anyhow, since screencaps don't do the dances justice anyway, I went and took lousy footage of the dances with the digicam. Video quality is lacking, but you can see the dance clearly enough.

I swear it's worth downloading and watching. They're like 10 seconds of sheer entertainment each. Each file range from 3-5mb in size, so they're not that big. *prods you all to download and watch* The male mage dance remains to be my favorite. XD

Downloads:
Male: warrior | summoner | ranger | mage
Female: warrior | summoner | ranger | mage
Extra: female ranger taunt emote, cause I thought it was cute

On to in-game screencaps. The game itself is just as pretty. )
25th-Apr-2006 03:31 am - Zera
[zera] smex
So, you know how there are tons of things you'd love to make an LJ post for but which you're much too lazy you can't decide what to talk about first? I have that problem constantly, so I solve it by not posting at all. And I smite you if you say I'm just being lazy. Even if it's true. Anyway, I promised Bhex I'd eventually share the prettiness of Zera to the flist. This isn't exactly an attempt to pimp something, since the game is currently only available in Korean open beta, and I don't think a lot of people would be interested in coping with a game where they can't even read the login screen.

Although before anything else, SUIKODEN V MAKES ME HAPPY. Gameblog some other day.

But first I bring you the prettiness that is [Zera].
For the curious, that's the mage/summoner/ranger/warrior respectively.

Worth downloading and watching just for the eyecandy? Hell yes. (And good music.) Screencaps behind the cut are taken from the two movies linked above. Will post in-game caps another time.

Full gallery [here].
I also posted two batches of Lineage 2 caps [here] and [here] that I just never bothered to link.

I flood you with eyecandy because I can't be bothered to write a proper post. )

Back to playing SuikoV for me.
21st-Sep-2005 10:42 pm - [games] TGS + other tidbits
demented frog
This post was started last weekend, then never finished, but I figured it would be a waste to just delete. Added a bit more + media links at the bottom for new trailers from the Tokyo Game Show. I didn't bother with additional info on XenoIII or SuikoV, as I assume anyone interested would be up to date on that by now.

01. We've always wanted a remake of Suikoden 1 & 2, Konami decides that they'd meet that wish halfway and [rerelease it for the PSP instead]. This will at least solve the problem of Suikoden 1 & 2 going for about $100-200 nowadays. If not the problem of having to buy a PSP to be able to play it. ;D

02. And speaking of remakes, talk about feeding the fire of the fans' desire to see a [Final Fantasy VII remake]. Care to note the 'almost impossible' line though, so as not to get your hopes up. But seriously, it's not like they've not already over-marketed the title.

03. The Rhapsodia cards are the pretty.

04. Hullo! New Phantasy Star Universe trailer! Oh how I've missed thee! *so excited* It's been so long since I've played anything from the Phantasy Star series and I was never too keen on the online version, so knowing that they concentrated on the offline aspect of PSU. XDDD I really wasn't expecting to be this ecstatic over this. I should stop, I might end up being disappointed when it comes out. Not to say I am not wary, but I can be happy until then.

Now please give me more Shenmue and I'll be very happy. *_* P.S. The Puyo Puyo they have on the lobby is cute. Lol. I never got very far in that game...

05. [.hack//G.U.] looks more interesting than the original .hack game series, which is bad, because now I am actually interested enough to play it and will have to pick up the original series again (I stopped after finishing the 2nd installment), especially since [save games from .hack is still loadable] for .hack//G.U. P.S. Is that an extremely powered up Kite in the trailer? Hot damn. Why didn't he kick that much ass when you were playing him? WOE. Love the twin blades he has on him. ♥ Love Haseo's weapon as well. A chainsaw sword? Who wouldn't. :P I hope they have a better battle system. >.>

06. New Okami game footages are love. <3 I cannot wait for this game to release.

07. Did not realize [Genji] was getting released stateside (I've been under a rock that long). I'll get it if only for the stunning graphics if nothing else as reviews for it don't seem to be very good.

08. Oh! And [info]selfaro~! [Shadow Hearts: From a New World] officially announced for a stateside release. XDD

09. Minagawa Junko was in the Konami TGS booth for Suikoden V? Can anyone tell me if she's voicing the hero? Sorry if this has been mentioned before, my catching up with my flist is still sporadic.

14th-Sep-2005 03:43 am - Of ROMs, games and PoT doujinshi
[kidd] at the journey's end
W00t! SNES emulator works. And a ROM for Chrono Trigger. Guess what I'll be replaying for the next few days? ^______^ FF7 what?

And my attempt to not make this into a one-liner. I got my scanner to work about a month ago, so the first thing I did was to scan in one of my djs. So this is for all the PoT fans that may still be left on the flist (and Niou/Marui fans *prods luminata*). Was planning to scan in more, but it's a really old scanner, and the lines aren't as sharp as I would have wanted, so I'll likely not be scanning things in much until I get a new scanner.

Bloom of Youth (by Random Blue) - Niou x Marui

Edit: This is a bit taxing. The last time I tried using an emulator was to play Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced for the GBA. I never finished it as playing with the keyboard cramped my fingers. Right now, I can't even figure out what keys I use to play. The key combination editor is a completely foreign thing to me. ;_;

Edit 2: Was randomly skimming through a game forum and it seems the release of Advent Children have made a few people not care at all about the upcoming FFXII game. I think this is sad. Am I the only one marginally looking forward to FF12? It's the only FF game I've looked forward to ever since the muchly disappointing FF8 release. It takes place in Ivalice. I will give it a chance if only for that one little fact alone. Final Fantasy Tactics remains to be my favorite of all the FF games. Nevermind that I don't know whether they intend for it to be the same Ivalice that FFT took place in or if they're making it a completely different universe with just the same name (I don't follow news on it, so I'm ignorant about these things). If it's the same though... Aaah! To see references to FFT. ♥ *gibbles*

Edit 3: Only found out from [info]selfaro a few days ago that Radiata Stories is out. *_* Game shopping this weekend. Yet another title to add to my growing list of games to play. Was hoping to finish a bunch of them before the next slew of new releases came out (of games I'm actually interested in).

Edit 4: And this is why PC gaming isn't for me. >.> 5 minutes in and my left hand is whining at me already. Been so long since I played anything on my PC I'm not used to it anymore.
13th-Sep-2005 08:34 am - [media] Final Fantasy Advent Children
tifa
*sweats* So, I woke up from an afternoon nap yesterday with flashing IM trays asking me whether I... 1) knew where to download the Advent Children raws or 2) had seen it already. I woke up this morning to even more of those. Wtf. o_O

I haven't seen it. I won't be watching it anytime soon since I really want to replay the game before watching it. It's been what... 10 years since I played it? I remember it only vaguely, though I'll probably remember it enough to understand the movie, but still. So, no spoilers on the comments please. Watched the first few minutes though (I couldn't help it. ;_;) Memories. :x Of the very last of the Final Fantasy games I actually loved liked. <3

For those who want to download it though, you can download it through BT from:
mininova or boxtorrent.

Both torrents are for the BiEN rip. It might take a while for your tracker to get a good connection with it. I know mine was at 0.4kbps when I went to sleep, but it was done when I woke up this morning. I downloaded from the mininova torrent, but the boxtorrent one might work better for others.

I did upload the file to my server for those who are 1. on dial-up or 2. cannot by any means possible get BT to work. If you're being lazy or just impatient if BT is giving you a slow speed, then please go away. I uploaded this to a server with limited bandwidth because I was having problems with my other domain.

Comment if you download. I will change the link if I ever get my other server to work. *gnaws on it* Not going to happen.

Final Fantasy Advent Children
.srt english subtitle file

I didn't bother uploading the original .ssa file, unless someone would prefer that to the srt. BSplayer, Zoom player and VLC player should be able to run the .srt/.ssa without trouble. I use all three players, it's really just a matter of preference. I prefer BSplayer, but Zoom is a good alternative if BSplayer is being a bitch. I dislike VLC's interface, but it works too.

Enjoy. ^_~
24th-Jun-2005 02:43 pm - [media] Kirite, FMA AMV, TeniPuri
[kidd] at the journey's end
Breaking my long abstinence from media pimping to share the latest from Yasunori Mitsuda. Kirite is a project collaboration between composer Yasunori Mitsuda and writer Masato Kato (who by and by, produced and wrote for the Chrono games). This was a pleasant surprise, as it's been a while since Mitsuda's composed an album which I've really liked, and I like this one a lot. The Irish influences so often laced into Mitsuda's works has never been as apparent as it is in this particular album. It has a very relaxing effect to it, which is great especially during a hectic day.

It's actually very reminiscent to the Chrono soundtracks, and judging from who he's collaborating with I shouldn't be surprised. This is probably also the reason I like it so much. Other than liking Celtic-style music, the Chrono OSTs have remained to be my favorite of Mitsuda's works. Although this is fast becoming a very close second.

*cough* You know, if they have time to work together on a project like this, maybe another Chrono game is due as well. HOPEPRAYWANT.

While I'm at it, I've had these two up on my server for a while but I've been too lazy to make a media post for it.

[AMV] Fullmetal Alchemist - Anything
One of my favorite AMVs to date. It doesn't matter if you haven't finished watching FMA, or if you haven't watched it at all. No spoilers, just a bit of laughs. It's very funny, and quite worth the download.

Atobe kara no Okurimono (nabbed from [info]lysistratarei)
I had absolutely no idea what this was, I was just curious so I downloaded it. I only skimmed through the whole thing, but I laughed myself silly through it anyway. I was going to have a post just for it riddled with screencaps, but I got distracted and I'm not enough of a TeniPuri fan anymore to bother. Must have driven the TezuAto fans wild huh?
27th-Mar-2005 12:37 pm - [7 (8) Days of Sin] Day 8 BAD ADDICTION - Tohjoh Asami
tohjoh-seiya
And now we know why I did not put up a single title by Tohjoh Asami on all 7 days. Tohjoh Asami, like Tachibana Kaimu, is the worst of my mangaka addictions. I stalk yahoo!auctions just to get my hands on every doujinshi she's made that I do not have. (Though I've not been doing this as of late because I am very poor right now.)

I love her art. Like most artists, you can see the vast improvement in her art from her older works to her most recent ones. Probably one of the reasons why I love Tohjoh's stuff so much is that her works are so different and diverse. Shadows is a perfect example of this. Her Renai Junkie doujinshi is disturbing and smutty and sexy and yaoicest-filled. She can do funny, sexy, smutty, dark, disturbing... I have no words for the amount of love I have for this woman's works.

It doesn't even make sense, as I'm ready to admit that Tohjoh isn't one of the best story-wise, but her characters are never boring. She entertains the way BL mangaka are supposed to entertain. She makes you squee, grin like an idiot, gives you tiny heart pains, fangirl and enjoy whatever smut she has to offer. Should I shut up now? Yeah.

And hey, it says something if I've been obsessed with a mangaka as long as I've been obsessed with her. (6 years. Tachibana hits 7.)

DOWNLOAD. READ. BUY!
Links lead to each shops Tohjoh Asami listing.
Jpqueen | Amazon | BK1 | Yahoo!Japan (Shopping)

I will trust on fangirl's resourcefulness to find and get their hands on what they want.

How to Download
Combined by the fact that I am pressed for time (I have to leave shortly after lunch) and the fact that I want to know everyone who downloads the Tohjoh stuff (hence why I'm not just dropping the link here) and I am tired of monitoring IPs, you'll have to comment to this post for the FTP address where Tohjoh's stuff are in. Or you can catch me on AIM/Y!M, but I'll be gone most of the day, so everyone will probably have to wait a few hours before I can get back to you.

All comments will be screened.

Title: Aitsu to Ore
Scanlator: Project Shueiguo
Download: 3 chapters + oneshot + doujinshi
Comments: Aitsu to Ore was the first Tohjoh manga I got my hands on, and the one that made her one of my favorite BL mangaka. This was only strengthened after I'd seen more of her other stuff. Aitsu was a random buy for me, back when I'd browse shops online and pick random titles I'd think was interesting and buy them. I had no idea what it was about, and had never heard of Tohjoh Asami. I have never regretted that decision since.

Aitsu remains to be a favorite out of her works. Maybe for sentimental reasons, but I do love the story. And it's kind of yaoicest, though they're step-brothers and not blood related. It has no sex, which makes me love it even more. She makes up for the lack of it with her doujinshi. >D Which by and by, falls under the switch theme and is utter love.

Title: Denkou Sekka Boys
Scanlator: Hochuuami & Nakama
Download: 3 chapters
Comments: Two pairs that I like! Bow down to Tohjoh-sensei's ability to have two couples and have me like both of them. (Kotobuki's Sex Pistols is another that's managed to do that.) Denkou Sekka Boys is one of those titles where Tohjoh proves she can take a normal, yaoi cliche and make me fangirl and love it endlessly because apparently, she completely owns my soul.

Title: For You
Scanlator: No Deadline
Download: oneshot
Comments: A good number of Tohjoh-sensei's stuff either falls under yaoicest or switch (sometimes both). This falls under the latter. It's a simple oneshot. She almost rivals Yamane on cloth!smex on this one, but Yamane still wins the prize for that hands down.

Title: Hagino Kouji Seiya-sama no Ran
Scanlator: Shi-Ran
Download: 4 chapters
Comments: Based on a novel by Akizuki Kou, this hits a kink which I was not able to include on the 7 days themes, which, now that I think about it, sucks, because it's one of my favorite kinks, but I've not read a lot of BL that fall under it. That is, the guardian/charge relationship, which I love second only to yaoicest. Icon used is of Seiya-sama from this series.

Title: Ouka Ryou Wars
Scanlator: Hochuuami
Download: 1 chapter
Comments: I don't own this and there's only 1 chapter available so far so I can't really say anything about it. She has a doujinshi out for this series, which I also don't own. =/ The first chapter sort of confused me with all the twin swapping (no, it's not yaoicest, one twin's a girl), but download, because it's by Tohjoh-sensei. :P

Title: Renai Junkie - Addicted to Love
Scanlator: Forever-More
Download: 3 chapters + doujinshi
Comments: Heheh. FANGIRLS. (I'm sorry, it's 12nn and I have to be getting ready soon. So comments will be rushed from hereon.) I liked this story too. Also, the doujinshi is of Haruki's (uke) two older brothers, and has the most traumatizing cat yet. Cat monster! <3

Title: Shadow
Scanlator: Shi-Ran
Download: 2 chapters
Comments: The other story that runs in the Renai Junkie tankouban, this all but convinced me that not only does Tohjoh-sensei do diverse, she really does do diverse in the wierdest sense. This had me loving her all over again, it's not even the story itself, but the situation. Hats off.

Title: Taiyou ni Nurete
Scanlator: Hochuuami
Download: 2 chapters
Comments: This is one of my favorite of her short comics. I think one of the reasons I love Tohjoh so much (geez, are you getting tired of me saying this by now?) is that her pairings/stories always somehow manage to affect me enough that you feel that little pang in your chest, no matter how short the story, no matter how simple the situation. Short, cute and sweet.

Title: Urimasu!
Scanlator: Forever-More
Download: oneshot
Comments: Short. Prostitution without penetration? <3 Supposedly. And lots of coffee-mug shots.

Title: X-Kai
Scanlator: Sweet Lunacy
Download: 1 chapter
Comments: It's interesting and different. That's 1 chapter of a 2 volume series, so download at your discretion. But you should download anyway. XD

Title: XY
Scanlator: No Deadline
Download: 1 chapter
Comments: Yaoicest and a bit darker than her other stuff, but nothing too dark.

Title: Yoiko no Sumu Machi (The Town in Which Good Children Live)
Scanlator: Tarts / Forever-More / Peccatore-Sanctuary
Download: 8 chapters
Comments: A collection of oneshots. 6 stories, 4 couples. My favorite by far is the first two chapters (first couple). Because dude, the second chapter and their fight scene. And the way they reconcile. ♥ It's simple, but damnit, so natural and I LOVE. The way the seme reacts and the way the uke reacts and waah! READ.

Edit: added
Title: Supernova & High Speed
Series: Eyeshield 21 doujinshi
Scanlator: Dragonfly
Comments: Nearly forgot about these. Supernova is a Shin x Sakuraba dj, while High Speed is a Shin x Sena dj by Konami Shouko. Tohjoh Asami just does a 2 page smut short in it. XD

And that is really the last day/post of BL manga pimpage you'll be getting.
Enjoy! (once you get the link from me that is) *rushes to get ready*
And Happy Easter~! >D Though I'm a day ahead than most of you.

Edit (04.03.05): All files taken down.
