[aph] "i'll make you into a real nation"

While reading through my backlog...

(yes, I was backlogged again. 7 days' worth in fact.)

♠ I am putting this link on top because [I ADORE BUCKY].

[info]lyntek you bitch. You'd better be able to rec me some good Kurama/Yusuke fics or YOU ARE SO DEAD. I'm not about to go wading through a fandom I haven't been in for god knows how many years when I'm pretty sure it's still littered silly with Kurama/Hiei fics I do.not.want.to.see. =/ And besides, this is all your fault. I'd also settle for some Yuusuke/Hiei.

First RK, now I'm regressing back to YYH. What is this? The month for revisiting very old fandoms? >.>

♠ *sparkles* Someone make me a Karasu icon. Or a Yomi one. I do not like Karasu with blond hair, kthnx. XD

♠ Call me stupid, but it never even occured to me that people would actually like the [Keiki/Youko pair]. I've never really thought of pairings in JK, although I'd admittedly love to see some Shouryou/Enki if only Enki wasn't stuck in a 14 year old form. ;_; And of course Youko/Rakushun, because their love is so true. <3

♠ Someone convince me I'm not buying the Tenipuri Extra Remix Fan Disc just because it has 4 full seconds of sparkly Gakuto in it. *bangs head on the wall*

♠ I figure if I wrote a different Tenipuri crack pairing fic for every time someone on LJ blames me for something, anything, I'd have covered all possible TeniPuri pairings by now. So for the record... *raspberries all of you* Pimpage is fun.

♠ [The Parody of the Christ.] Link gacked from [info]thistle_chaser. Amusing as heck.

♠ The only FMA fics I enjoy are gen fics. I enjoy FMA yaoi fanart, but yaoi fics are such a hurdle to get through in this fandom. Not because they're bad, but because I don't really see the slash in this series (even if I hunt down FMA yaoi art sites by the dozen. :P). I think the only slash fics I'd pounce on are ones that involve Envy, because we all know Envy is a manipulative pervert.

♠ I am behind in every single anime series I'm following. Except maybe PoT and Naruto. Naruto if only because I follow the manga (w/c I'm 4 chapters behind in). This means I can't read half of the entries posted on said series' when they involve episodes/chapters I haven't seen/read. I am wondering why it's still taking forever to get through this backlog. I've been at it for the past 4 days (and of course it just keeps adding each day).

♠ Proving that I'm not the only nutcase in the world. [info]kitsune_jade does a [Prince of Tennis meets Hikaru no Go family tree].

♠ Why is Ace/Sanji/Zoro (or any variations of this pairing) so popular? I want my Zoro/Luffy!

♠ If someone can rec me some good Neji/Naruto fic I will love you!

♠ I don't like Takigawa Eiji, but for those on my friends list who do, you might want to [check these pictures out]. This includes 1oF people who know nothing about TeniPuri but who squeed over TakiEiji (the Tezuka actor, you guys) in the musical.

♠ *waves to [info]kitsune_jade* Oi oi! You remember your crack pairing which you thought you'd never get to see? [White, Yukimura+Tezuka] Haven't read it yet, but it's a fic. Now why couldn't I have the same luck with my crack pairs. =/

♠ My constant backlog is probably a sign that I should cut down on my friends list... considerably. Which means you should all start posting boring shit so I can take you off my friends list, because there's really nobody I'd want to take off at the moment.

It amuses me that even though I have courage and am utterly fearless, that I would decide to play dead in a survival situation. Then again, that is what you call courageous, but not stupid. ;P The only thing remotely right about this is my weakness.

What?! *sends her super manipulation powers to make sure you convert*

KeikixYouko is a must! *_____*; (Although I admittedly love YoukoxRakushun too :D)

Here, go watch yourself some gifs. It's a must. ^_~

I do like the Keiki and Youko relationship, just not in a romantic kind of way. XD
[Sorry for responding here instead of posting my own comment, but I can't seem to post a comment to this entry for some reason unless I reply from here. >.> Erm, so yes, directed towards [info]mithas]

You know, I think that's at least a part of the reason why I enjoy Juuni Kokki, is the fact that I don't even think about pairings when I'm watching it. I mean yes, Youko/Rakushun, but even that I'm not fanatic about. It's refreshing. I'm like that with Naruto too (because I don't really have pairing preferences in that series), and actually...most of the ongoing series I'm currently following come to think of it, other than TeniPuri. Which is...strange. I didn't realize that until now. Huh. But um, I have lost count of how many TeniPuri pairings I like. >.>

>Someone convince me I'm not buying the Tenipuri Extra Remix Fan Disc just because it has 4 full seconds of sparkly Gakuto in it.<

No way, because I've already decided to purchase it myself. >:P~ Get it...you know you want to see it in dvd quality!

And, I died from that HikaGo/TeniPuri family tree. XDDD I hear you on the flist backlog, and also keeping up with anime series. The unfortunate part about following multiple series (in addition to manga series) is the time drainage. Mrrr. -_-
You're right, most of the series' I watch now don't have me thinking/rooting for any pairing. It's there and I react if I see something worth squeeing over regarding a pair, but nothing that I'm really rooting for. Except Eichi/Mitsuki, but we all know where that went... Oh, and Ultra Maniac (shoujoness).

Get it...you know you want to see it in dvd quality!

Tell me you purchased it because of the 4 seconds of sparkling Gakuto footage? I can at least be comforted by the fact that I'm not the only Gakuto fan insane obsessed enough to do so.

I'm currently scheduled to watch Princess Tutu once I find the time to do so. I'm determined to at least watch one finished series (out of the huge backlog of anime I have burned to CD which I've never watched) at least once a month.
Gakuto ranks as one of the top reasons why I'm purchasing the dvd. I squealed when I first saw him in it. So, so cute. >o< I also want the poster that [info]dilettantka posted in this entry. But um, I see nothing wrong in purchasing it for 4 seconds of sparkling Gakuto footage. Gakuto agrees with me. :3

Ooooh yes, you must watch Princess Tutu. I love that series. *_* LOVE. God, I don't know what a relief this is to hear that there are others who have piles of anime burned on a CD waiting to be viewed. It's all related to my paranoia that I must d/l immediately or it won't be there later. >.>
Gakuto agrees with me.

=/ Yes, of course he would. Gakuto's been a right smug bastard ever since I decided that yes, I was going to get the dvd purely for the 4 seconds of sparkling Gakuto footage. The boy so shamelessly owns me. -_-

I love downloading. I somehow feel incomplete when I'm online and I'm not downloading anything. And since my PC is online nearly 24/7... you can just imagine the amount of stuff I manage to download. It's almost a blessing that I'm not connecting to anything faster than a DSL connection, or else I'd run out of harddrive space within a week.
Frankly, most pairings don't come to me until I view j-fanart o_O; And I don't think it affects the way I watch the anime/read the manga. A series with tons of pairings don't make it anymore better than a series with none at all. For me, pairings are just something I have fun with outside the real thing, I guess? ^_^;
A series with tons of pairings don't make it anymore better than a series with none at all.

No, admittedly, it doesn't. Although it can sometimes be distracting during the series. I would admit to the fact that having a pairing I don't like can sometimes lower my enjoying a series. And in this I mean canon pairings. Pairings that don't really exist and are only in the mind of the fans are well and fine with me.

I do know what you mean about most pairings not coming to you until you view j-fanart though. It happens to me a lot of times as well. And pretty art is always nice to look at, which is why I suppose I have more tolerance for even pairings I would never read fics for when it comes to fanart.
::whine:: I want good Yusuke/Kurama--or vice-versa--fic! The pairing's not quite so rare anymore, but most of it manages to make Kurama on the rebound from Hiei, or he's still with Hiei. This probably goes against the vast majority of the fandom, but I am so not a Kurama/Hiei fan.

Either that, or he's a girly uke. In which case I will promptly shoot myself.

::snicker:: If you did do a crack pairing for everytime you were blamed, you'd have to have gone beyond the PoT characters by now.
I am so not a Kurama/Hiei fan.

You and me both. Although I'd have to admit to liking the pairing at first. Seeing as K&H was the pairing that introduced me to yaoi to begin with, but it got old pretty fast, and finding fic on other pairings was such an ordeal back then. K&H was like TezuFuji, but at least the PoT fandom has enough crack pairing fics to keep me happy, the YYH fandom sadly lacked the variety.

Have you read the Pigeons DJ series that Caithion scanlated? She's currently only done upto volume 2, and I think there are 7 volumes in total. But it's what got me back into this YYH phase to begin with.
Kurama/Hiei, along with the slew of Gundam Wing yaoi, are the pairings that delayed my liking yaoi for about three or so years... it's one of those pairings I just couldn't see, I guess. Some interactions, I like better as friendships--that's one of them.

The YYH fandom has more variety nowadays, but with it, it's brought a torrent of badfic. Of course, K/H is still the most popular one around.

No, I haven't read them-- I'm not an IRC user anyway ^^

What got me back into the YYH phase is checking my FF.net account after several months, and then my jaw dropping at the status of my fic >< Now I'm going to have to continue it in all its terribleness.

The PoT fandom still doesn't have any AtoRyo fics...and that's such an obvious crackpairing too ;_;
I can upload the Pigeon scanlations for you if you'd like. It's incomplete and the first part had me going WTF?!, but it's Kurama/Yusuke, so I'll be satisfied with it. XD

Back when I first got into YYH and yaoi, I wasn't very picky with pairings. Any pairing, as long as the fic was well written was free game to me. It was only after a few months that that changed, and a few years later well... *looks at the long list of pairs I won't read* Times do change. Sometimes I mourn that I've gotten so picky. Sometimes I'm glad that I am.

You're right. I'm actually surprised there hasn't been any AtoRyo. But fandom's pet Atobe crack pairing at the moment seems to be BeKami, which I have no complaints about. >3
I would like to see it, but please don't if it's an inconvenience. I probably cause enough trouble with my spoilerific journal ><

I started being picky about all pairings when I read too many stories by native English speakers who have no grasp of the language's structure. I admit, my grammar's far from excellent, but I don't want to have to decipher a fic.

I love reading fics, so the pickiness is rather tedious at times, depending on the fandom. It's easier to find good fanfic in some fandoms more than others. Unfortunately, with the PoT pairings I gravitate towards, finding any fic isn't easy, so it's become more a case of "I'll avoid only these pairings" than "I'll read only these."

I don't have any complaints with BeKami, but AtoRyo's one of those I can sparkle over, like TezuRyo. It's actually one of the pairings that forced me to write, which I absolutely cannot pull off properly--but the idea wouldn't let go -_- That aside, I don't think people like the chibi--or the more open minded writers don't, at least.

While I'm at it, what happened to your layout?
Not a problem. Uploading stuff is rarely a hassle for me, so I don't mind. Whenever I do a media post it's actually the writing of the entry and not the uploading that makes me go bleh. [http://monochromatic.org/manga/] manga/rikkai

I suppose the sudden increase in fic writers also has something to do with the fact that I (we) have gotten pickier about what we read. Not only is it time consuming, but the average quality of existing fics doesn't really make it worthwhile anymore. So we unconsciously find other ways of cutting down our reading.

Most of the writers I know like Ryoma, they just don't have him up there on their favorites list. With so many other cool characters to choose from, I suppose it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

The layout's back now. Whenever I go through my backlog of comments I need replying to I tend to switch back to the component style. I like it better.
Thank you for the chapters! Though now I'm craving Kurama/Yusuke fic, and few of the authors of that pairing are really good...

Being picky can be difficult when it comes to some pairings, depending on the fandom. Disliking the most popular pairings automatically cuts out most of the fic, and many of the talented writers as well. Which is why I probably end up rereading many of the stories I liked the first time around.

I love many of the PoT characters, but Ryoma is still my favorite. He's such a brat most of the time, and I still say he belongs in Hyouei, but there's something more about him that keeps me interested.
Have you actually read good Kurama/Yusuke fic? I've read all the fics a friend of mine linked me to, but I didn't like any of them. >.>

These days I think my being picky has more to do with characterization than with pairing (although there are still pairings I won't read despite how good the characterization). I can't read Niou/Yagyuu fic for example, because fandom sees these two completely different as to how I see them. Oh well. same old, same old. I should be used to it by now.
O.O (whimpers) How is it my fault? ;____; I just rec'd [info]caithion's uber cool scanlation! I'm blameless! It's not my fault if it's t3h Shm3xy XD Ngehehe

And you're going to hate me, but I wish you'd asked around two, three years earlier ^_^;;;; I'm out of touch with the fandom as well, and I definitely have no idea if there have been new Yusuke/Kurama fics written after I left. I still managed to scrounge up a few via my old rec list, though, but I'm not sure how much you'll like them. At the time I made the list, I was thankful for just about any Yusuke/Kurama fics I could find XD And we both know our tastes don't always match in fanfics ;)

[Fire in the Stone] by Kuwabara no Miko (smut)
[Deciphering the Ages] by Caithion
[Revenants] by Zoe Sionnach
[Little Youko Tales] by Zoe Sionnach
[Kurama's Mouth] by Lulu White (smut)
[Silent and Still] by Lulu White (Toguro/Kurama/Karasu actually, but it has Yus/Kur themes, smut)

Also, I want to rec this uber cool fic by Sahari, though it ends up Hiei/Kurama which you (and I) now hate, but the Yusuke/Kurama in it is what initially pushed me toward the pairing. If you're interested, here's the [link] ^_^

And I have absolutely no idea where to find Yusuke/Hiei now @_@ (there were a few posted to some of the MLs before I left, but I can't for the life of me remember anymore @_@)

Meep, I hope this helps somewhat :(
Tried the fic by Sahari. Hated it, couldn't finish it, so just skipped skipped and skimmed through the Yusuke/Kurama parts. Dude... it took me like... 5 minutes to finish this fic. lol. *glomps* Thanks for the links!

Si Hiei, palaging asungot hah. I have yet to read Silent and Still, and finish reading Deciphering the Ages, but will do that when I have more time.

Bleh. Now I feel like writing some Kurama/Yuusuke fic, but can't as I don't remember the series much.
